A WIDOW FOR THIRTY-FIVE YEARS Sarah and her daughter, Martha Ann, were now left alone. Sarah lived with each of her other daughters from time to time. It is not clear when and where Martha met Joseph Langford. She was about twentyseven years old when she married Joseph, February 1898. They moved to DeLamar, Owyhee County, Idaho. Martha's sister, Effie May and her family were also living in and around Silver City, near DeLamar. Once again Sarah would face death. Martha died November 4th, 1898, three weeks after giving birth to a little girl. Martha was buried in DeLaMar and the baby was taken to Milford to live with Ellen. About a year and a half later, the little girl, Sadie, was taken to England to be reared by her paternal grandparents. This too must of been a challenge and heartache for Sarah, knowing that she would never see this little grandchild again. For the next thirty-five years, Sarah Swindell Orwin lived first with^ one daughter, then another. Many times she was a midwife and delivered some of her grandchildren. All the years that the Orwin family lived amongst the Mormon people, neither Reuben, Sarah or their immediate family seriously investigated the Mormon religion.
